Which charger suits your electric car?

The power going into the battery is capped by whichever is lower: the charger or the car. A car that takes 40 kW at most still charges at 40 kW on a 120 kW charger.

  • AC only No DC port. Use an AC charger (up to 22 kW), best for long stays.
  • Fast 60 kW The car takes 60 kW DC or less. An ultra charger would not make it faster.
  • Ultra-fast 120 kW+ The car takes more than 60 kW. It charges much faster on an ultra charger.

Times are rough estimates: average power is taken as 75% of peak between 20% and 80%. Each car's curve, the temperature, and battery condition make real results differ.

For site owners

Keep your chargers earning.

Ultra-fast chargers are expensive. If the slot is taken by a car that only accepts 30–40 kW, the charger works at a third of its capacity for close to an hour. Revenue per hour drops and cars that could charge fast end up queuing.

  • Install a mix: fast 60 kW for city cars and small batteries, ultra 120 kW+ for SUVs, MPVs, and 800V cars.
  • The Ultra power used column shows how hard a 120 kW charger works for each car.
  • A per-kWh price with a parking fee after charging ends keeps fast slots turning over.
